It feels done though I'm not entirely happy with it. There might be more to add and some things to take away. I know there's definitely some major editing. It won't go in the round file. Very little that I write does. It's saved and backed up. One day, maybe I'll open up the file and read through it and think, maybe this is worth editing after all. Right now, I can't summon up the energy to even consider it.

I'm almost there. Or...I'm almost to 50,000 at least. I've almost won but it feels strange because in other ways, it feels like I've failed. That personal challenge to hit 75,000 is never going to happen. Maybe next year...

It's probably because this story all along was aiming as a young adult. They're shorter usually, right? I don't know. I need to go look for that kind of information...but not this month.

It's almost done, just needs some smoothing in some areas, mostly transitions between scenes. I love yWriter for planning a story and for writing without distractions too...but at some point, you have to pull it into a whole and smooth away the sharp contrasts caused by breaking it into smaller chunks. The smaller chunks make writing more manageable though...

Another day away from the computer. At this point, I've written the beginning and the end and most of the middle. I'm in an action packed and interesting place that's fun to write. It was me and the AlphaSmart at starbucks again today. Maybe getting out of the house is good for me...

Today, I took the AlphaSmart with me. Clunky old technology. Not useful at all for things other than writing. I left my netbook at home to keep me focused on only writing. I had my cell phone to check my email and facebook but it's not so much fun to surf on the cell, not nearly as tempting. I had a job interview and I went to find the place early and then sat in a nearby starbucks typing away both before and after. When I plugged in to the computer at home, I was amazed at how much I had written with that much distraction...

Sticking with the Write or Die method again today, 30 minutes of every hour on the hour. I don't like writing this way, when I read back, it seems choppy. About 2,800 of my words for today were in write or die and the rest was me smoothing out the transitions between rapidly written bits.

I did the same thing as yesterday, 30 minutes of every hour on the hour in Write or Die. Everything was flowing pretty smoothly today. I didn't feel like I was struggling so much.
